I'm interested in finding records of my grandfather's and father's employment with Hudson. Any suggestions for finding records or other information are appreciated.

My grandfather (John Lowe Newell) worked for Hudson from quite early until the 1940's. My father worked for Hudson from the mid-1930's to the 1950's.

Sincerely,
Ty Newell

You should talk to two people in the Hudson community: Jack Miller and Ken Poynter. Both of them have knowledge of a large number of ex-Hudson employees and if anyone can help you, they can. Jack runs the Ypsilanti Automobile Heritage Museum. Its website is http://www.ypsiautoheritage.org/ and I feel sure that I've seen Jack's contact information on the website somewhere.

Here is one e-mail address for Ken (this is the only one I could find quickly: hwmayor (at) harperwoodsmi.net Put "Hudson" in the subject line so he'll know you're not just a disgruntled taxpayer, LOL! I understand he is recovering from surgery so I'm not sure if you will get a reply right away.

Good luck in your search. All of Hudson's records were pitched out back in 1954 when they merged with Nash, but one of these fellows might have heard his name.
