I was looking at the "Articles" under "NEWS & COMMUNITY" when I saw my '51 Hornet Hollywood pictured in two of the articles. I was surprised and curious why and how my car is pictured. Any answers?

  • You seem to be the defacto Hudson pic for all Hudson articles.

I'm surprised you weren't notified - unless they are using stock pictures that have no ID on them. You could contact the publication and request that future pictures credit your ownership, if you wished to.

Going the other way, when I was editor of the New England Chapter newsletter, Nor'byNoreast I would contact the source of whatever material I found online and ask permission to publish. This was usually granted - after publication I would send the source a copy of the newsletter the article was published in.

    Alex,
I don't know who I would contact. I tried the "comment" on each article. No response.

    J Haugo-

I'm sure the "Contact Us" feature would be a start, or post a question in a thread in the "All Discussions" section would work.

If you do reach someone, tell them you don't mind at all, just send your monthly check to (your address here), and you'd be happy to let them continue to use the image. LOL!
  • Well J, no comments were received - were you signed in when the comments were submitted? Aside from that, all comments are approved before publication, and even had they come through I was asleep, and given it's a weekend a delay in reply could be expected.

As mentioned to you in an email just now, the image is on Flickr, under the Creative Commons licence.
  • Very, very nice car. Same color as mine. Qwestion? Did a fellow named Jerry C. once own it??
  • Alex and Russell,
Thanks for your input. The matter is resolved. Thanks to Scott Fitzgerald.

  • You're welcome James. I wonder if a lot of people that place their images up on Flickr, and sites like it, know about the Creative Commons licence, and the ramifications of that choice.

I did not place the image of my car on Flickr or any site. I never heard of Flickr until it was mentioned by Scott Fitzgerald. Who did post the picture remains a mystery.

Odd. Here's the Photostream of the person that has the image in his/her library. Goes by the name of Hugo90 on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hugo90/, and this is their bio, flickr.com/people/hugo90/
